The long-awaited FIMP General Re-evaluation Report (GRR) and EIS was FINALLY released today by USACE for a 60-day public review and comment period. Attached you will find: (1) the text of the USACE press release (2) the link to the GRR/EIS report, and (3) information on how to submit comments to the Corps (The deadline for comments is September 30, 2016)
This is a general press release geared to a very wide public audience about a very complicated document. To help Fire Island residents navigate the document and understand the various critical issues in the GRR affecting our communities, we are working on a supplementary FAQ memo about the key components of the plan that will affect Fire Island.
