Final FIMI Contract for Sand Placement is Proceeding in Brookhaven Communities
Contract 3B2 – Dune and berm construction
This contract calls for the placement of 2.3 million cubic yards of sand, and construction of 34 crossovers, two ADA accessible walkovers, and vehicular crossovers throughout the communities of Davis Park, Water Island, Fire Island Pines, Cherry Grove, Point O’ Woods and Ocean Bay Park. The contract was awarded to Weeks Marine on April 19, 2019. The anticipated start date for work is the end of July 2019, although preparation measures are currently ongoing.
